A tender romp through a little girl's day with her ''baby'' (a toy puppy) starts with ''One kiss for baby on baby's nose,'' progresses to ''Two kisses for baby tickling toes,'' and eventually ends at bedtime (of course!) with ''Ten kisses for baby fast asleep.''

Pastel colored numbers from 1 through 10 embellish each spread, and the illustrations couldn't be cuter. Accompanied by her bear and rabbit pals, the little girl frolics through the pages with her ''baby,'' surrounded by however many hearts and kisses the spread's number refers to. A very endearing and cheery book, and great for beginning numbers!
