Daddy's Lullaby
by Tony Bradman
illustrated by Jason Cockcroft
This is a gorgeous, tender, and heartwarming tribute to a father’s love for his family. The story begins as the father gets home late at night from work. He tiptoes in, picks up the cat and discovers his baby awake upstairs. Without waking the mother, he picks up the baby and moves softly around the house, checking on his other little boy and gazing with adoration on his sleeping wife. All the while, he whispers comforting words to the baby, who looks up at the father with utter trust and contentment. To avoid disturbing the others, the father takes his baby downstairs, settles in a big overstuffed chair, and sings the baby a lullaby, which works - for both of them!
Written and illustrated by men, the artwork and the story of this book bring both parents and children a beautiful sense of peace and love.
