When kids are wound up, sometimes a dreamy, low-key bedtime book just doesn't do the trick. Rather than trying to fool or lull anyone to sleep, this book builds a cheery story about some barnyard animals who are trying to sleep, but are awakened by snoring they can't quite locate.

The chickens, cat, ducks, and mice drive themselves nuts until they get to the source of the problem: the floppy-eared dog. What makes this book so fun is pulling the tabs, which opens the eyes of each of the critters as they realize the snoring has to stop. Sneaking up on the culprit, once they realize who it is, they yell, '' Wake up, Dog!'' (His eyes open wide and ears flap up in surprise.) Told in fun-to-read simple verse, this book will bring chuckles, and hopefully the idea that sleep is a thoroughly acceptable and desirable thing!
