Conventional cotton is the most heavily sprayed crop in the world, and the chemicals used are considered the most toxic in farming. And when this cotton is turned into clothing and other fabrics, even more harmful chemicals are added, including formaldehyde, bromines, urea resins, and fire retardants. So when a teething baby starts sucking and gumming on non-organic fabrics, at least some of these toxins can make their way into her little body.

But not with the Organic Fruit Basket Teether Set. Inside the tote are four ultra-soft, friendly-faced fruits. Each one is made and stuffed with 100% organic Egyptian cotton, and no pesticides or chemicals were used throughout the entire production process. Even the vibrant colors come from metal-free vegetable dyes, meaning you don’t need to worry about lead or PVC (which has been shown to cause developmental delays and even hearing loss in children).

Besides being safe for babies (and encouraging healthy eating habits!), these fruit teethers are made by a women’s cooperative in Egypt, enabling low-income mothers to earn extra income for their families, while caring for their children at the same time. The strictest quality control and safety is ensured.

The fruits range in size from 6’’ long x 3’’ wide for the largest (watermelon) to 4 1/2’’ x 1 1/2’’ for the smallest (banana). The basket is 6.5” in diameter.
